Our 2014 Annual Luncheon was a success
AVANCE-Austin’s 7th Annual Luncheon was a huge success! More than 200 people attended the event at the AT&T Conference Center on October 15th and raised $48,000 to support our Parent Child Education Program.
Ron Oliveira led the ceremony flawlessly, and we heard from 4 wonderful women. Council member Laura Morrison introduced our honoree, Catherine Morse, who gave a passionate and charming speech.
Executive Director, Marie Felan, spoke about the great and necessary work AVANCE accomplishes in our community. Lastly, we heard from AVANCE graduate, and current AmeriCorps member, Teresa Tirado, who gave a heart-wrenching speech about how the AVANCE program has changed her life.
We could not have been happier with the way the event turned out. We were touched and encouraged by the attendance and support of so many from the community.
