It was a heartwarming moment at City Hall in October when Mayor Steven Adler declared October 22, 2015 as AVANCE-Austin Day during the City Council Meeting. Along with AVANCE-Austin staff, parents, Board Member Kathy Vale Castillo, and Mayor Pro-tem Kathie Tovo, 5 year old AVANCE graduate Emiliano Perez presented a toy hobby horse to the Mayor.

“[The Parent-Child Education Program] fundamentally changes the trajectory of children’s lives,” Mayor Adler announced.
