Thankful for our Volunteers!

A+FCU volunteers at AVANCE for A+ Gives Day, the credit union’s annual day of community service.

“A+ Gives Day is our favorite way to show the commitment we have to building stronger communities,” said Eric R. Kase, President/CEO of A+ Federal Credit Union. “And we know this effort is best served by engaging our team members, our partner organizations, our members, and the local community. Together, we’re better.”

Last month, these volunteers assisted our Toy Making/Parenting Educators prepare materials so parents can make Rolling Can toys for their children. Additionally, last Spring, A+ volunteers gave their time and talent to help us build new desks, tables, white boards, and filing cabinets to enhance our work. We love our volunteers!

Salient Systems volunteers to support our Latino community.

This group of volunteers was happy to support our two-generation program, preparing materials for our Parent-Child Education Program.

"My team had such a wonderful time lending a hand at AVANCE," said Heather Guerrero, Human Resources Coordinator at Salient Systems. Heather is a long-time volunteer who has come back repeatedly over the years in different capacities to support the AVANCE mission and we are glad to welcome her back with her team at Salient!

Texas Mutual Insurance Company Gives Back in More Ways Than One!

Volunteers from Texas Mutual gathered all around the state to give back during a month of giving. Locally, this group spent three hours at AVANCE, preparing kits for our Toy Making class. With their help, hundreds of caregivers will be able to make their own educational toys for their children. Children learn best through play and these toys will make excellent tools to build language, motor, cognitive, and social skills!

Texas Mutual has also granted $50,000 to support AVANCE's two-generation programs this year!
