Over 335 supporters attended the AVANCE-Austin 9th Annual Luncheon last Wednesday, October 19 to change everything for low-income children and their parents.
In fact, we had a record-breaking year, raising over $127,000 that will change the lives of hundreds of children.
Thanks to our co-presenting sponsors, H-E-B and Seton Ascension, Emmy-award winning television journalist and author, John Quiñones, shared his remarkable story about his journey as the child of a migrant farm working family to becoming one of the most recognized faces in broadcast news today.
We also are grateful to have heard from AVANCE graduate, Leslie, for bravely and confidently speaking about how AVANCE helped her prepare her son, Joseph for Kindergarten and beyond.
During the event, Crutch and Danna Crutchfield received our Griffith Family Legacy Award. Their remarkable support has transformed the lives of thousands of families as they work to help end poverty in our community.
AVANCE Board and staff also congratulate United Way for Greater Austin, H-E-B, John Donisi and Gina Hinojosa. They are dedicated heroes who care deeply about AVANCE’s mission.
Thanks again to our amazing event co-chairs Elma Cantu Aldrete and Kathy Vale Castillo and to all of our generous sponsors who made the luncheon a great success. Thank you to all who attended the 9th Annual Luncheon. We hope to see you next year because YOU and AVANCE change everything!
Missed our luncheon? No worries, you can still donate today!
